There was once an old man, who had the habit of taking a walk on the beach every morning, before going to work. So that he could get his mind around the things that needed to be done that day.
One morning very early, he was walking along the beach after a heavy storm, which had raged that night and the whole beach was strewn with starfish.

In the distance he saw a small boy walking in his direction. Occasionally the boy stopped, stooped, picked up something and threw it into the sea.
The boy approached and the man called out, "Good morning! May I ask, what are you doing?"
The boy looked up at the old man and replied, "I'm throwing the starfish back into the sea. The tide has washed them up on the beach and they can't get back into the sea by themselves."

The old man replied, "But there are thousands of starfish here! I'm afraid that won't make much difference".
The boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea as far as he could. Then he looked at the man and said with a smile, "For this one, it made a difference."

It's just a small act and a small effort. What small thing can you do for another that just makes a difference to them? It will make the world a kinder place. ❤️
