Last session for the year on “Visual Design and Figma” to UCSC university students

The BIT students from the University of Moratuwa visited for a day of career insights and readiness sessions hosted by , where they engaged in stimulating tech quizzes and activities, setting them on the path to a bright future 💜


It was a pleasure to participate in a panel discussion alongside Crishmi Costa, Anuj Bandara, Sanduni Opatha & Thamindu Wickramasinghe regarding different career roles, interesting projects, and how we started our careers.

💫 Some key learnings we discussed;
1. Importance of Soft skills and continuous learning as hashtag grows
2. Networking with professionals
3. Get feedback for your portfolio/CV before applying
4. See how you could expand your portfolio to not only academic projects

🔹 Understand what your users need, then deliver that information.
🔹 Remove distractions - Break the information to steps or progressively disclose information
🔹 Spice up long text - If you’ve got lots of information to convey, try using visuals instead of text.
🔹 Show progress bars
🔹 Use Shortcuts - Avoid adding any kind of friction to user actions, unless they’re meant to dissuade the action.
🔹 Use animations (motions/sound)
🔹 Use gamification and personalisation for engagement
🔹 Test and iterate your designs
