I try to make a little pilgrimage to Raeburn Orchards at least once a year, and today, due to it being my birthday (and thanks to the very welcome tradition of “birthday leave” at work) I got to spend the morning exactly how I wanted.
The storms over the weekend stripped most of the famous foliage, and the season is right at its end, but it was still nice to have a wander though the orchard - while I wasn't the only one out there, it was incredibly quite, which was nice (I really am not a fan of big crowds!)
Next year I’ll aim to visit a week or two earlier to catch the full autumn glow again.
