Carol from Quinns Rocks has had asthma since childhood. After developing pneumonia two years ago, her symptoms became much harder to manage.

She joined the TTOCS clinical trial at the Institute for Respiratory Health, which takes a personalised approach to asthma care, looking at the individual factors affecting her condition rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment. Over 12 months, her medications were reviewed, she learned to use her inhaler properly, and she was referred to a physio and exercise classes.

"All of these changes have improved my asthma and I have fewer flare-ups," she said.

The TTOCS trial is still open to adults in WA who have asthma and have taken prednisolone in the past two years.
