We have 2 nights on the island of Šolta. My grandfather was born here. Our place here is on the southern coast, the bay of Pagonika. It is the only house (shack) here, built by an Olympian water polo player in 1971. He apparently did a lot for the island and was given permission by marshal Tito to build here. It is humble, beautiful, tasteful and serene. The swimming is superb 👐🏻I’m off for a swim now.
We had a power shopping stop in Venice to pick up some slippers and got a great water taxi ride to our ferry to Croatia. 3 days in P**a instead of 2 because we got caught in a storm that caused our ferry to be cancelled and us to get soaked to the bone. The extra day gave us recovery time and a chance to get some great seafood and salad meals. Plus a few more rounds of the most well preserved Roman Arena left in the world dating back to 10BC-100AD, a remarkable feat of engineering! And the gorgeous Venetian architecture of the city.
