M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S + best wishes for a sun-soaked, laughter-filled and freightier 2023.
This year we spent some time thinking about food supply chains + food security, so we thought it fitting to sign off 2022 by sharing some pics of the wonderful kitchen garden at Coogee Common that produced the tasty dishes we devoured at the SITE Christmas lunch.
We will be back in the office, refreshed + recharged, on Monday 9 January 2023.

We love the opportunity our birthday post gives us to celebrate the incredible infrastructure, activities and industry that come together to create our local, regional, national and international supply chains.
This year, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to highlight the fundamental shift in how Australian’s live, work and shop and how that continues to translate into the growth of online shopping…with 81% of Australian households making an online purchase in 2021… that’s 9.2 million households!! (Source: 2022 Australia Post eCommerce Industry Report)
As a result, our supply chains do some seriously heavy lifting moving freight across our sunburnt country, collecting parcels from local small businesses to global retailers and delivering to homes, workplaces, parcel lockers, post offices, collection centres or bricks and mortar retailers (click and collect), to name a few.
If the challenge of responding and adapting to our changing consumer behaviour wasn’t big enough, the amazing people that work across the industry kept supply chains moving during a global pandemic (hello locked-down borders) and climate disruption (watch out for washed-out freight rail lines and roads or those pesky bushfires closing major freight highways).
In addition to managing operational disruption, it is an industry is full of strategic innovators, leaders and early-adopters harnessing the opportunities afforded by big data, automation, AI, drone technology and tackling the challenges of last-mile solutions, decarbonisation, reverse logistics and skills shortages, to name a few.
These are some of the reasons why we love .
As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful individuals + organisations that have encouraged, collaborated, supported, championed, engaged, trusted + invested in us over the past eleven years. Our clients, consultant partners, business advisory A-team, family + friends, government agencies + industry organisations.

After “opening our doors” in December 2011, we found our feet in the months following thanks to the support, generosity, mentoring + encouragement from three wonderful freight + logistics industry leaders. Those individuals + organisations played an instrumental role in the growth of SITE + are also the reason why we fell in love with planning freight friendly cities + regions.
10-years later we continue to acknowledge them for playing a significant role in our story, are grateful to call them mates + continue to collaborate with them on great projects.
Our 10-year journey has taken us to the top of port container cranes, travelling down freight rail lines, on-board ships + floating docks, through countless warehouses + to ports, intermodal terminals + industrial areas across Australia….and we can’t wait to see what the next 10-years will bring.
Wherever the next decade takes us, we’ve learnt that the best journey is one shared with great clients + great project teams, working on great projects.
As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful individuals + organisations that have encouraged, collaborated, supported, championed, engaged, trusted + invested in us over the past decade. Our clients, consultant partners, A-team (business coach, accountant, branding + IT), family + friends, government agencies + industry organisations.
