For the fifth year in a row, more than 300,000 Australian homes and businesses installed rooftop solar in 2024 ☀️

That’s one of the call outs from our Bi-annual Rooftop Solar and Storage Report, July to December 2024 released today.

Among the highlights:
• Rooftop solar generated 12.4% of Australia’s total energy mix in 2024; doubling in the past 5 years
• In the second half of 2024 there were 159,011 rooftop solar units installed across Australia, bringing the total to more than 4 million on the rooves of Aussie homes and businesses
• In the second half of last year, 45,233 home battery units were sold with 185,798 home batteries now installed across Australia.

⚡ Solar reduces bills by between 30 and 50 per cent.
🔋 Solar combined with battery storage nearly doubles these savings.

Super charging battery uptake through a national home battery rebate program of up to $6,500 per household will help to drive uptake and provide cost of living relief, another way clean energy works for Australia.
