Unpopular opinion but your work colleagues *are not* your family.

Look, it's all contextual and relevant to your specific work place, however generally speaking, work places that call themselves families are generally a red flag❌

What does family mean to you? Ultimately "family" is a social construct and not all families are models of positive functionality and fairness - much like a workplace. Families often operate around power positions, where not all are equal and difference isn’t always celebrated.

How that translates next time to you are in an interview and hear that sentence?! ⬆️
That workplace that they may not have appropriate emotional boundaries in place, might be victim to some "parent-child" power plays + have a group think mentality.
