🗣️ The NDIA is failing some of Australia’s most vulnerable people, including our children living with additional needs & disability.

🗣️ The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) alongside other peak industry bodies and professionals are calling on the Federal Government to review the NDIS pricing recommendations, which threaten essential supports and choice for people with disability.

🗣️ From 1 July 2025, the NDIS intends to either cut or maintain price limits for many allied health services, support coordination, and other necessary NDIS providers including funding for travel, despite inflation.

🗣️ This will make it financially unsustainable for many NDIS providers to deliver the complex, high-quality PHYSIOTHERAPY support participants need, especially in already underserved communities.

📣 We spoke up. For the kids who can’t afford to be left behind. 📣

When we were interviewed by @9newsperth about the recent cuts to NDIS physiotherapy funding, we kept our focus where it belongs — on the children.

Children with complex health needs who rely on physiotherapy to stay safe, mobile, strong, and out of hospital. The slashing of therapy and travel funding directly threatens this. It means fewer physiotherapists. Fewer appointments. Longer waitlists. Delays in access to essential assistive technology. And more kids ending up in hospital - for longer, with more complications and fewer options for community support on discharge.

We also spoke about the removal of travel and rural loadings - and the enormous impact this has on regional and remote families who already face limited access to care.

While we didn’t get final say over what was included in the story, we made sure our message was clear: this decision puts vulnerable children at greater risk.

Yes, CPI and inflation were part of the discussion. But at the end of the day, what matters most is the wellbeing of our clients.

This decision doesn’t just impact therapy services - it impacts the whole system. It means more hospital beds occupied. More strain on families already stretched thin. More lives shortened, not by illness alone, but by a lack of support. This needed to be emphasised.

We spoke up because our clients face enough battles. They shouldn’t have to fight for access to the therapy that keeps them well, functioning, and connected to their communities.
