We warmly invite you to our annual Feast of the Annunciation Rosary, which will be held at Fremantle Cemetery on Wednesday, 25 March at 6:00pm.

This year, the service will take place in the West Chapel, as the Fremantle Mausoleum is currently undergoing maintenance.

The rosary will be led by Fr Eric Alleaume OMI from St Patrick’s Basilica, Fremantle, and will be offered in English, with some Italian included.

Although maintenance work is in progress, the Fremantle Mausoleum will be accessible to the public on the day.
It will also be open for public access across the Easter long weekend.

Parking is available on Sainsbury Road and Carrington Street.
For those with mobility needs, the Sainsbury Road car park is the closest option and provides a direct path to the chapel.

We look forward to sharing this meaningful time of prayer and reflection.

Fremantle Cemetery is developing a new Historical Women’s Trail, and we’re calling on the community to help shape it.

This trail will honour women who made a meaningful impact on Western Australia, through leadership, creativity, advocacy, community service, or influence.

We are now seeking community nominations of women interred at Fremantle Cemetery whose stories deserve to be shared and celebrated. If you know of someone whose life left a lasting mark on Fremantle or the wider WA community, we’d love to hear her story.

Your nomination will help create a trail that recognises the diverse women who built, enriched, and inspired our State.

Today we pause to remember Bon Scott, the legendary AC/DC frontman who passed away on this day in 1980.

His memorial at Fremantle Cemetery has long been a place of pilgrimage for music fans, making it one of the most visited gravesites in Australia.

Visitors can find his grave just beyond the Bon Scott Memorial Entrance, located near the corner of Leach Highway and Carrington Street.

Bon’s grave is also the starting point of the Fremantle Cemetery Historical Walking Trail, a self-guided route that takes visitors past some of Western Australia’s most notable resting places, including this modest but deeply meaningful tribute to one of rock’s most iconic voices.

Bon’s resting place offers a quiet moment to reflect on the music and memories he left behind. A simple, meaningful tribute to a life that continues to resonate with so many.
