Even if you use zero power from the grid, you’ll still have daily supply charges from your retailer. A battery can’t remove that.

Shorter days + more cloud = less solar generation
Less solar = less battery charge
Which means you’ll still rely on the grid more through winter.
🔥 Big loads = fast drain
Aircons, heaters, ovens, dryers… they chew through power.
Run a few of those at night, and even a large battery can be empty pretty quickly.

We have recently added batteries to our solar panels, installed by Dean and his offsider, who were both polite and very professional.

We opted for the backup power to be installed at the same time. If anyone doubts whether this extra add-on is worth it, think again.

We live in Buntine WA 6613, and we lose power approximately 6–7 hours every month. It's been 2 weeks since we've had the system installed, and as I'm writing this, the mains power supply has gone down. It went off at about 6:30pm and isn't due to be back on until 2:00am.

So I'm sitting here with the lights on, internet still running, TV still on, and still able to have a shower before bed. Before Finden Solar and Electrical did their magic, we would have had an early night.

Obviously, we haven't had the system long enough to see what sort of dollar savings we're getting, but all I'm saying is that the peace of mind, knowing that as the weather gets worse I'm not outside in the dark starting up generators, is worth it.

I'm sure anyone else who lives out in the back and beyond can relate.
