๐Ÿฅณ The programme for Semester Two 2026 is now available for viewing on the website ๐Ÿฅณ

๐Ÿง Check out some of the new courses below that have been added to the programme:

๐Ÿบ Beer, Its Place in the Evolution of the Human Race (term 4) - Nigel Radford. Thursday am. Beer is one of the oldest โ€œfoodsโ€ known in the human raceโ€™s early โ€œlarderโ€. This course will explore the role of beer in the development of society.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ Enjoying Poetry โ€“ Tom Austen. Tuesday pm. Understanding poems, reading them, and for those inclined, composing them. Discussing poets and their times. A class for old hands with poetry and for those who know hardly anything about it.

๐Ÿ•บ Letโ€™s Dance โ€“ Mandy Clarke. Monday pm. Sequence dances that are developed around pre-set, simple patterns that everyone dances in unison. The dance styles vary and include, rhumba, waltz, swing, cha cha, salsa and more. Singles are welcome.

๐ŸŽถ Operas Known and Unknown โ€“ Roger Jennings. Wednesday am. This Course will present 16 operas in video, each approximately 2 hours in length. All operas are either in English or have English subtitles. They span the late 18th Century to the 21st Century.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Positive Parenting (term 4) โ€“ Kathrine Morisco. Wednesday evening 6.30 โ€“ 8.30pm. This educational course is tailored to empower parents with the tools and knowledge needed to foster meaningful connections with their children. Grandparents are also welcome.

๐Ÿฎ Pottery for Beginners โ€“ Kerrianne Jenkins. Tuesday pm. This class that is for those students who have never done pottery before will teach how to hand-build pottery and use the pottery wheel. The course is for new beginners only.

Enrolments open on Tuesday 21 July and Semester Two starts on Monday 3 August.

All Kalamunda Community Learning Centre members are invited to the 2026 Annual General Meeting this Friday 5 June in the Main Hall at 12noon.

The new executive will be voted in, workgroup leaders will provide reports on different aspects of the running of the Centre and members can have their say. Morning tea will also be available!
