Did you know that LGBTQ populations report higher rates of disabilities than the general population? That’s why it’s essential that we celebrate pride hand in hand with championing accessibility.
This Pride Month, we celebrate love, identity, and the right for everyone to feel safe, accepted, and supported.

Parents! We wouldn’t be here without them.
Global Day of Parents is here to remind us to appreciate the contributions and sacrifices they make to raise their children and support their families. That includes parents who are carers for their children with disability, as well as parents with disability.
So, whoever you are, take a moment to spare a thought (or a phone call) for your parents or children to keep nurturing the lifelong connection between you.

Do you know about “𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘺”?
It’s a metaphor for managing chronic illness or disability’s connection to fatigue.
Spoons are a unit of measurement used to describe the energy that people with chronic illnesses and disability have to perform everyday tasks. It means that certain tasks take more energy for them than they might for other people, so they need to ration out their energy, so they’re not exhausted or put at risk.
This is especially important to People with Invisible Disability, whose needs can be misunderstood or unmet because they are not identified as needing support, time, or special accommodations.
