Concerning news below. Western Australia's chief health officer, Dr Clare Huppatz, has confirmed this represents a very low risk to the population but it’s an important reminder that polio could be everywhere until it is nowhere.

It is with deep regret that E-WA Rotary has cancelled our Rotary Wheatbelt Swim for Reading 2026. The decision was taken in consultation with our key stakeholders and has taken into consideration several factors, including the deteriorating fuel situation, worsening weather forecasts and the possibility of thunderstorm activity on 28 March.

Announcing the Arnold–Strange Rotary Community Challenge
We’re excited to share some wonderful news ahead of the Rotary Wheatbelt Swim for Reading in Bruce Rock on 28 March.
The E-WA Rotary Board has resolved to rename the Rotary Community Challenge, in perpetuity, as the Arnold–Strange Rotary Community Challenge.
For more than a decade, Stephen Strange and Chris Arnold have provided tremendous support to the Swim, our Rotary Love of Reading Project, the RYPEN youth development program, and the many community efforts that make these initiatives possible in Bruce Rock and Narembeen.
Their commitment to strengthening opportunities for local young people — has made a real and lasting difference.
We’re proud to recognise two outstanding community leaders in this way.
The poster for the Arnold–Strange Rotary Community Challenge is attached — please share it widely with friends, neighbours, past swimmers and RYPEN alumni. Let’s see the community get behind the Challenge again in 2026!
Because in the end, the real winners of the Arnold–Strange Rotary Community Challenge are the children of our two Wheatbelt communities. 📖✨
See you at the Swim!

Thanks to your support, and the matching grant via RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Service we are 87% closer to our goal of helping rural nursing student Imogen to buy a second hand caravan so that she has a safe place to sleep instead of driving for hours multiple times a week to complete her course.
