You would have to be living under a rock not to have heard of The Push-Up Challenge - Australia. If you haven’t, see our previous post.

We were very fortunate to have the founder, Nick Hudson, join the Entech team at our annual Men's Health Week event and share the story behind the phenomenon. Fun fact: Nick and our very own Tom Parrott went to school together back in Melbourne 😊

Nick spoke openly about living with a serious heart condition, the depression that followed and how those experiences ultimately became the catalyst for creating something much bigger than himself.

What stood out was that success rarely comes down to talent alone. More often, it is built on adversity, resilience and the decision to keep going when things get hard.

And once his health challenges were behind him, the business challenges arrived. One obstacle after another. A bit like a game of whack-a-mole. Guess what? Nick kept showing up.

It's not lost on us that the guy who once had a failing heart has one of the biggest hearts around.

Today, more than one million people across four continents have taken part in The Push-Up Challenge, helping raise more than $90 million for mental health programs and services. Simply outstanding 🙌

If you haven't taken part before, grab your family, mates or work crew and put a team together for 2027. The challenge is designed for everyone. Pick your own style, choose your level and get involved.

Yes, you'll improve your fitness. Yes, you'll help raise funds and awareness for mental health, but you'll probably find something else as well. Connection, conversation, banter and a reason to check in on each other every day.

Like most things built on good intentions, you'll be surprised by the ripple effect.

Ready to put your open pit experience to work across more than one pit, one commodity or one way of doing things?

We’re looking for an experienced Open Pit Mining Consultant to join our Perth team.

This role would suit a Senior Mining Engineer looking to broaden their consulting experience, or a Principal-level consultant ready to take a lead role across project delivery, client engagement and technical direction.

At Entech, you’ll work across a broad mix of commodities, study stages and mining challenges, from early stage studies through to feasibility, operational support, due diligence and technical reviews.

With offices in Perth, Melbourne, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, Entech offers the opportunity to work across a genuinely diverse range of projects and operations.

And more importantly, you’ll be working alongside good people, including mining engineers, geologists and geotechnical engineers, to deliver practical, technically robust and commercially focused outcomes for clients across Australia and internationally 🌏

Welcome to Entech, Victoria Lawns 🙌

Victoria brings more than 14 years of operational experience across underground and open-pit operations in WA and Guyana. Her recent role was Senior Resource Geologist at Antipa Minerals, with previous experience across Plutonic, Karouni in Guyana, Mount Monger and the Focus Minerals Coolgardie and Widgiemooltha Operations.

Her background gives her a strong practical edge across modelling, resource estimation and troubleshooting complex geological datasets.

Victoria adds even more capability and depth to the team and we are looking forward to having her involved across a range of client projects.
