Danish mid century lounge chair and matching footrest by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia Stolefabrik

The ‘BM-2254/ Slædestolen’ sled chair and footstool were designed by Børge Mogensen in 1956 and produced by Fredericia Stolefabrik. Børge Mogensen was one of the most influential designers in shaping Danish Modern design and this chair showcases the simple and functional aesthetic that he is famous for. Both the chair and footstool are made from solid European oak and are exceptionally well built (check out the finger joints in the armrests). The chair is adjustable in two different positions making it particularly suitable for use as a reading chair. This is from my personal collection and it’s condition is as near perfection as one can get for a vintage piece of furniture.
