Easter weekend 2024:
Jarradale heritage trail parkrun, we brought the basso runner vibe, we interacted with locals, volunteers and felt sure we made a good impression. Drove to Kojonup for lunch, entered the bakery: the question was asked: whats in the vegetable pasty? Vegetables the lady said. Mt Magog for lunch afters, treated some hikers to some bassorunner laughs after being cooped up in the car for hours. Bassorunners answer to kipchoge had a slip and impaled his arm with a twig on the way down, Albany medical centre for a clean and stitch up and a last minute accommodation find for a stay over in Albany. Brekky treats at 3 anchors cafe on Sunday morning followed by a run along the bib to the windfarm. Lunch was had in Albany centre then a Petrol and a Coles pitstop for fuel and hot cross buns.
Drove to the Porongurups to attempt Castle rock but with the packed carpark decided to do Mt Trio instead, done, dusted and made our way to Mt Trio bush camp for the final night of an adventurous weekend. Next morning we strolled up Mt Hassel then made our way back home with a lunch stop at Kataning.
Plans got changed but the basso runners showed tenacity, adapted and made it a weekend to remember.
