It's Heart Week!

The single most useful thing you can do this week for your long-term heart health is to book a Heart Health Check with your GP.

It's Medicare-subsidised. It takes about 20 minutes. You'll walk out knowing your risk of heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years and you’ll know what to do about it.

If you're age 45+ (30+ for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, 35+ if you live with diabetes), you're eligible.

Call your GP today.

A Heart Health Check could be one of the most important 20 minutes of your year but most people don't know it exists.

If you're 45 or over (or 30+ if you're of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, 35+ if you have diabetes), you're eligible for a Medicare subsidised Heart Health Check with your GP.

In that appointment, your GP looks at your blood pressure, cholesterol, lifestyle and family history to estimate your risk of a heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years and what you can do to lower it.

With Heart Week starting next week (4–10 May), now is the time to book one in.
