I saw someone giving props to multi talented people for the kind of isolation it takes to be like that. I had never thought of it like that but in hindsight, holding up in the shed for hours on end alone every day on drums, guitar or anything that makes sound can get kinda lonely.
I've been in bands most my adult life but getting back into solo music recording feels pretty familiar and good at the moment.

I got to do what i wanted
But it wasn't how I thought
I thought that I'd be satisfied
Finally getting what i got

When it was over
Felt the same
Felt more even less
More emptiness
More callousness
More vapid, more or less

So I looked for something else to do
Looking round I found there's no more you
As much as there was less of me
Every part a missing piece.

Listlessly i loved you
I haven't gained any more pace
Climbing uphill, falling downhill
Both ways falling on my face

I like it when I get to see you
You're always on the move
It's like we're always crossing paths
But cannot ever pause
An easy life is non existent
Not everyone is free
Days in the lives accumulating
More debt and parking fees
Steadily, whether ready or not
'Sunrises til it sets
Everybody's busy bees
Attempting, nonetheless
Try to feel good
Try not to feel bad
Peaks and troughs of mood
I heard you read a book
