Anxious but assertive that’s me!
I don’t think many people realise the talent (patting myself on the back here) that wedding photographers need to capture family photos. At this wedding alone, I nearly had two grandmas escape… and had to find a chair for one before she toppled over.
Everyone’s excited. Everyone’s having fun. Meanwhile, I’m on a MISSION trying to get twenty people looking down the barrel of the camera at the same time while juggling a circus of relatives asking how much longer this will take because they want to get to the free bar.
That’s why I never promise “perfect” family photos. If you want photos where everyone’s perfectly posed, looking directly at the camera, and behaving impeccably… book them for another day that isn’t your wedding 🙊
Your wedding day is alive. It’s loud, emotional, messy and fast-moving.
So enjoy the chaos. Smile quickly for the camera. Hug your grandparents. Laugh when someone wanders off. Then get back to celebrating one of the best days of your life 🫶🏻
