📢 WA homeowners – this could be worth knowing.

The State Government has just announced proposed changes to the Residential Design Codes (R-Codes) that could open up subdivision opportunities for thousands of existing properties across Perth.

The biggest proposed change?
Properties on around 700m² in many R20 areas may be able to be subdivided, where previously around 900m² was generally required because of the average lot size rule.
The Government estimates these changes could make more than 50,000 existing properties eligible for subdivision opportunities if the reforms go ahead.

⚠️ A quick reminder: these are proposed changes only. The draft reforms will go out for public consultation later this year, with implementation expected from mid-2027.
