Tall Tree Early Learning - Mullaloo

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, this morning we dropped off five full shopping trolleys of baby clothing and other items, to . Whilst we were there, we got chatting to a lovely lady who drives from Narrogin every few months to deliver donations, this morning’s haul was an impressive 90 boxes! We also met some of today’s lovely volunteers from BHP.

It’s so wonderful watching a community come together to help support others in need.

This week in our Karil Room, Educator Sharon brought in some used coffee pods to recycle into a colour mobile. The children sat together outside with Sharon and Ashley and helped scoop the used coffee grinds from the pods, which they collected into buckets.

The pods were then cleaned out and strung from fallen branches to create fun, colourful, recycled mobiles which are now hanging in the room.

The collected coffee was also used by our Nursery children in our Tall Tree garden. Used coffee grounds act as a nutrient rich, slow-release fertilizer that adds nitrogen, magnesium and potassium to the soil which helps promote healthy leaf growth.

This process was an active way for our little learners to reuse and effectively recycle items and give household waste another purpose.
