Merry Christmas. Today, we mark the birth of Jesus Christ. God enters human history not through force, but through humility. The promised Messiah comes without a sword, without a throne, without power as the world understands it.

What was expected was a warrior Messiah who would crush His enemies in glorious triumph. Instead, He changed the world in a way no conquering emperor ever could.

In the Incarnation, a new man is born so that fallen man might be restored. Light enters the darkness. As Australians gather today, may we remember that Christmas is not a glorified long weekend - it is the declaration that God became Man so that you may live.
