Life in the Bush
Celebrate Turtles on World Turtle Day May 23π’ Did you know Perth hosts Australias most critically endangered reptile? The Western Swamp Tortoise (actually a turtle) was once thought to be extinct but their numbers are now on the rise thanks to the efforts of Perth Zoo, the Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise Inc. and other dedicated advocates and supporters. Find out more and how you can get involved in the full length video on my YouTube Channel - link in comments.
There is something I love π about having a YouTube channel that most people don't mention - it's connecting with my viewers. They share their stories and I learn so much from their comments - this past week I've learned that:
- Bobtails are known as Bog Eye Lizards in Nyngan NSW
- Planting of Australian Acacia's in Phoenix has exploded because they withstand lasting high temperatures
- Apparently Berry Saltbush berries are high in antioxidants, and
- One viewers recent connection with a Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, while visiting Kanyana Wildlife, was a bucket list dream come true, and inspired them to do more to help protect Black Cockatoos
I love love love connecting with people from around the world in this way ππ₯°π¦π¦ππ¦π¦π¦
