π»πΆ What a wonderful evening of music at the Junior School Winter Concert. π΅πΊ
From our youngest musicians in the Combined Suzuki Strings to the talented performers in the Year 5 Band, Year 5 Strings, Year 5 Choir, Year 6 Choir, Petite Chorale, Junior School Band, Vivaldi String Ensemble, and Deci-belles, every performance showcased the enthusiasm, dedication, and confidence of our students.
A heartfelt thank you to our Music staff for their expertise and encouragement, and to our families for supporting the girls throughout their musical journey.
Congratulations to all performers on a fantastic concert.

We were honoured to welcome 2026 Australian of the Year, Astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg, through an exclusive partnership with Auspire and Australian of the Year Awards. The sold-out event left students, staff, and the wider PLC community inspired, energised, and reflecting on future pathways in STEM and beyond ππ
As Australia's first professional astronaut and the first person to train and qualify as an astronaut under the Australian flag, Katherine shared insights into her remarkable journey, including her selection by the European Space Agency from a field of 22,500 applicants to join a class of just six astronaut candidates.
Encouraging students to pursue fields they are genuinely passionate about, Katherine highlighted that success is built on curiosity, perseverance, and ambition. Students also had the opportunity to engage directly with Katherine through a Q&A, photographs, and autographs.
Adding further significance to the occasion was the connection to PLC Old Collegian Dr Megan Clark AC, founding CEO and Advisory Board Chair of the Australian Space Agency. Katherine acknowledged the important role Dr Clark has played as a mentor and supporter throughout her career.
An unforgettable opportunity for our students to hear firsthand that even the biggest dreams can become reality π

Yesterday, we proudly christened the newest addition to our rowing fleet: 'Labore et Honore' β With Work and Honour π£ββοΈ
More than a state-of-the-art racing shell, this boat carries the spirit of our school and the values that define our community: hard work, integrity, courage, and unwavering support for one another.
As our Principal Cate Begbie reflected, success in rowing is built not on luck or equipment, but on a culture of grit, honesty, and commitment to the team. In a sport where every seat matters, strength comes from lifting each other up.
Named after our school motto, 'Labore et Honore' will challenge every girl who steps into it to give her best, lead with honour, and inspire those around her. It stands as a symbol of the legacy of strong, supportive women who have come before them and those who will follow.
Our Head Coach, John Geering, was delighted to welcome the βFilippiβ to the PLC Rowing Shed, noting that it is the same make rowed by the Australian womenβs eight who won gold at the World Championships in Spain on the weekend, a true reflection of its Olympic standard.
As 'Labore et Honore' takes to the water, may it always remind our crews that their greatest strength lies in their sisterhood, their work ethic, and their pride in the blue, white, and green. Together, standing side by side, they are unstoppable ππ€π
On behalf of all our rowers, we sincerely thank the PLC Argyle Club for their generous support in the purchase of our new Eight. Your support ensures our rowers have access to outstanding equipment, allowing them to do what they love and perform at their very best on the water.
