I'm on a journey atm and it's so deep I can't even speak about it yet but I'm reading a book and it has this incredible quote about self-care by Parker Palmer... "Self care is never a selfish act- it's simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on the earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to our true self and give it the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch."

As someone who hasn't been role-modelled self-care growing up, this really helps to frame its importance.
