The Rules of Running - Mackay based Middle Distance Running Squad

As a coach, one of the best things isn’t just seeing PBs or medals, it’s watching our athletes support one another.
Today, three of our older runners did exactly that.

Huge congratulations to Jared, who paced and encouraged Bodhi to a PB and a new course record.

And a big well done to Riley and Maverick, who ran alongside Oscar, helping him to an incredible 9-minute PB.

The best part? If you asked these lads about it, they’d probably shrug and say it was “no big deal.” But it is a big deal. Their willingness to give their time, encouragement and energy to help younger athletes says a lot about the young men they are becoming.

I’m incredibly proud to be their coach, and I know Bodhi’s and Oscar’s families are grateful for the support they showed today. Moments like these are what make our squad special; looking after each other, celebrating each other’s successes, and proving that being a great teammate is just as important as being a great athlete.
