Goodbye HECS hurdle (maybe). 🎓🏡
Some lenders have become more flexible with HELP/HECS when assessing borrowing power—policy varies, so it pays to compare.
What we’ll check:
• Your borrowing power with/without HECS scenarios
• Repayment plan & timing (pay down vs keep)
• Debt to Income Ratio (DTI)/buffers and how each lender treats them
• Docs you’ll need (ATO statements, payslips, etc.)

More welcome news for mortgage holders today after the RBA announced that the cash rate target will remain unchanged at 4.1% for the fourth month in a row. The decision to keep the cash rate at 4.1% is the first one made with Michele Bullock as governor of the RBA.

The RBA stated that it is holding off on further rate hikes for now, as it expects the previous 12 increases to gradually bring inflation back to its 2-3 per cent target range. However, it warned that more rate rises may be necessary in the future to keep inflation under control.
