This Saturday the Mudgee Farmers Market we will see the return of our popular Killer Chilli & Garlic and Cheeky Ginger and Lemon sauces just in time for the warmer weather. They are both great with seafood, chicken, bbq meats and pork. Blend with yoghurt, cream cheese or mayo to make exquisite dips or use as marinades or dressings. It is with deep regret that we advise our friends & customers of The Grape Alternative that we have closed the business. I (Kathryn) have been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to my bones. I have been advised I have a good chance of a positive outcome with so many new treatments available for cancer, having never smoked gives me much better odds, I will focus on getting better.
We have had an amazing 18 years with the Grape Alternative, won so many awards, at the Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards we had the privilege of winning the Richard Langdon Trophy for Best in Show in 2006 & Best Preserve 2005 & 2006, still the only company to have won this award for two years running. The Wine Jellies were unique in 1997 when we first produced them & they still hold their own out in the market place today. They are a true local (Mudgee) product & we are disappointed to be stopping production, if you know anyone who would like a unique small business let them know it's available at a very reasonable price.
