From 1 July 2026, conveyancers will be requiring extra information in line with Australia’s new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws.

Conditional Approval vs Formal Approval - don’t get caught out ⚠️

Conditional approval (pre-approval) is a lender’s initial green light, but it’s not guaranteed. Formal approval means your loan is fully assessed and ready to proceed ✅

💡 Some contracts treat conditional approval as the finance condition being satisfied, which can put your deposit at risk if something changes later.
