Queensland’s smoke alarm laws are designed to keep every home safe, and compliance is mandatory for all rental and sale properties.

Ensuring your alarms are photoelectric, interconnected and correctly positioned isn’t just a requirement it’s a critical safety measure that protects lives and reduces risk.

From 1 January 2027, these standards will apply to all homes across Queensland, so now is the time to make sure your property is fully up to date. Regular checks and proper maintenance keep your home compliant and give everyone peace of mind

Correct water charging can improve your investment’s running costs, but only when the property meets Queensland’s compliance standards. To pass on water usage to the tenant/s the home must be:

1) individually metered
2) fitted with water efficient fixtures as per legislation
3) the tenancy agreement must clearly outline the charging conditions.

We help landlords stay fully aligned with legislation, maintaining fairness, transparency and confidence for everyone involved in the tenancy
