30 years ago today, the Summersault festival kicked off in Melbourne with a dream line-up featuring legends like Beastie Boys and Sonic Youth, plus newcomers like Beck and Foo Fighters.

Despite the amazing bill, the festival reportedly sold just 50,000 tickets across five dates, so it never returned.
