THE OCEAN REEF KITCHEN BUILT AROUND ONE STANDOUT ISLAND

A large kitchen island was always going to sit at the heart of this Ocean Reef renovation, but Brightwood Design gave it far more presence than a standard run of cabinetry. Finished in Dulux Peridot with a curved profile, fluted battens and integrated lighting, it brings colour and personality to the room while creating a generous place for cooking, dining and catching up. White shaker cabinetry, black hardware, pale stone and a softly textured green splashback complete the coastal palette, while the new layout was carefully designed around the home’s retained timber flooring. It is fresh and relaxed without relying on the usual coastal design clichés.
