AMO

The strategy is clear.
The executive team is aligned.
Everyone left the room saying the same things.
Six months later, delivery teams are working in completely different directions.
Nobody deliberately deviated.
The strategy didn't change.
The communication was thorough.
But somewhere between the boardroom and the delivery team, the translation broke down.
This is one of the most frustrating patterns in complex organisations — because it looks like a communication problem, it's treated like a communication problem, and it keeps happening anyway.
It's not a communication problem.
Strategic intent doesn't translate into delivery direction automatically. It requires deliberate design — shared language, clear ownership, and an operating model that connects strategy to ex*****on at every layer.
Without that design, every team interprets the strategy through the lens of their own priorities. Alignment at the top becomes fragmentation at the coalface.
If you've ever watched a clear strategy lose coherence as it moved through the organisation — where did the translation break down?

Only a few days to go.
And the question feels more relevant than ever:
As AI becomes part of everyday work, how do we make sure human connection doesn't get left behind?
We're seeing organisations move quickly to adopt new technologies, automate processes, and improve efficiency.
But alongside those gains, many leaders are asking an important question:
How do we preserve trust, collaboration, and meaningful relationships in increasingly digital workplaces?
Join our CEO, Fatimah Abbouchi, will join Daniel Webb and John Cooper for a Thomas webinar exploring:
The Connection Crisis: Can AI Strengthen Human Connection at Work?
Together, they'll discuss where AI can enhance the employee experience, where leaders need to be mindful of unintended consequences, and how organisations can strike the right balance between innovation and human connection.
At Agile Management Office, we believe successful transformation is about more than technology. It's about ensuring people remain at the centre of how organisations evolve.
This conversation will explore practical ways leaders can embrace AI while continuing to build the connections that drive engagement, performance, and culture.
What's one thing organisations should never lose sight of as AI becomes more embedded in the workplace?

Did you know?
AMO was founded because we kept seeing the same ex*****on failures happen over and over again.
Different organisations.
Different industries.
Different countries.
The same patterns.
Ten years ago, the focus was on improving consistency across project, program, and portfolio delivery.
But something interesting happened.
The deeper we got into organisations, the more we realised the biggest challenge wasn't sitting inside the functions themselves.
It was sitting between them.
The handoffs.
The ownership gaps.
The disconnect between what the strategy deck said and what actually happened day to day.
A decade later, that's still the problem we're helping organisations solve.
Not because people aren't capable.
But because ex*****on depends on how all the pieces connect.
As we reflect on 10 years of AMO, one thing has become clear:
The challenge was never strategy.
The challenge was always what happens next.
