External before and afters.
This 14 year old ex rental was looking pretty tired and needed a refresh as the owner had decided to sell.
The dark grey on the facade felt quite heavy and we wanted the outside to reflect the bright and airy coastal feel we had planned for the interior. There were five colours on the facade which just felt too busy so I took the window colour and we painted over the two grey sections for a more cohesive look but the dark grey garage door still dominated and felt like a big black hole and still didn’t feel coastal. The clients budget didn’t allow for a new door so we decided to paint it the same colour as the gutters and render above the window and what a difference it made! Bright and airy ✅
The alfresco decking hadn’t been touched in ten years and the stain was peeling off. We had originally planned to sand and restain but it needed to tie in with the timber floors inside. We needed something warm so we chose Dulux Ancient Ruin and this ended up working out cheaper for the client. Win win all round.

Internal before and afters.
Here, we worked the colours back from the items that were to stay.
The ceilings and walls were a cream and clashed with the window frames so we lightened them with Dulux Lexicon Quarter and laid Hybrid timber over the grey tiles in the main living areas which has brightened and added a beautiful warmth back into the home.
In the kitchen, we removed all the joinery and appliances. I used the window colour for the two packed cabinets and added a crisp white stone on top. YDL Stone has slightly larger stone slabs which enabled us to utilise the entire width and extend the island out by 13cm so it could be used as a breakfast bar.
In the bathroom and ensuite, we removed the old white vanities and replaced them with Laminex Urban Planked Oak joinery. It not only matches the hybrid floor perfectly but adds a nice warmth to the wet areas and ties these two rooms in with the rest of the house.
