Changes to the Cheaper Home Batteries Program commenced on 1 May 2026 with the STC calculation applying different rates depending on the usable capacity of the battery system.
🔹 0-14 kWh: STC Factor applied at 100%
🔹>14-28 kWh: STC Factor applied at 60%
🔹>28-50 kWh: STC Factor applied at 15%
The STC Factor determines the number of STCs a system is entitled to create per kWh of usable capacity.
It's now at 6.8, and will keep declining every 6 months.
