Started the morning with a haircut from a client whose business I've had the privilege of insuring since day one. Gotta admire how much effort they have put into decorating the place.
It's always rewarding to visit a client's premises and see firsthand how far they've come. Sometimes, we forget that behind every business is a story of hard work, resilience, and dedication, and it's been a pleasure supporting their journey from the very beginning.
One of the best parts of my role is building long-term relationships and gaining a deeper understanding of the people and businesses I work with. Moments like these remind me that business is ultimately about people, trust, and genuine connections.

"Networking Tuesday by GCIS Insurance" - Happy Faces. Caught up with a client today who was introduced to me via a Malaysian community at Bliss Kitchen (highly recommend Malaysian Restaurant if you haven’t been!).
It’s always great to see how connections naturally form through shared communities. Today’s conversation went beyond just business; it was about understanding my client’s goals, their journey so far, and where they want to head next.
Moments like these are a strong reminder that networking isn’t just about expanding your contact list — it’s about building genuine relationships and taking the time to truly understand the people you work with. Spent Saturday afternoon connecting with like-minded business owners and professionals, sharing experiences and learning from one another.
A big thank you to John from Kaya Advisory for generously volunteering his time to discuss potential tax changes, business structures, and investment considerations. It was a great reminder that every business is different, and having the right team of advisers around you can make a significant difference.
As an insurance broker, I see the importance of this every day. While business owners focus on growth and operations, having the right risk management and insurance strategy in place is equally important to help protect what they've worked hard to build.
Always grateful for opportunities to learn, share ideas, and continue growing alongside other business owners.

"Networking Tuesday" - We recently had the opportunity to catch up with Katie and Brenton from Berkley Insurance Australia (a Berkley Company). Really appreciate you both taking the time out of your busy schedules to meet with Terry and myself, providing valuable market updates and insights into how the insurance market is continuing to evolve.
Building strong relationships with insurers is such an important part of what we do as brokers. The better we understand each insurer’s appetite, market conditions, and approach to risk, the better positioned we are to negotiate outcomes and provide tailored solutions for our clients.

While clients enjoy extra sleep-ins and chocolate eggs, I’m using the quieter days to do what insurance really is: build relationships. Think of it as networking with purpose — less small talk, more strategy.
I’ve been catching up with the team at FTA Insurance because insurance really is a relationship game (and sometimes who you know matters more than what you know). Quiet weeks are the perfect time to strengthen those connections so when our clients need support, we can move quickly and with influence.
That behind-the-scenes work pays off: better deals, faster decisions, and the ability to get those “grey area” cases across the line. It’s not flashy, but it’s the difference between a good outcome and a great one.
