DEMKO

It's been one hell of a year right? Phew! Sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going! But in amongst the craziness, there have also been some great achievements and things to take pride in. So am I still creating? Short answer yes! I've worked in the industry for a little over 5 years now, part of a large design team where I focus predominately on corporate and health care services. It's a great job! I love it! But in terms of creating for DEMKO, no. I've unashamedly taken a back seat. As you may know, I hand create all my pieces. None of what you see has been mass produced or come out of a factory. So during the first Melbourne lock down, my partner and I decided to pursue other passions by creating a small crystals and minerals business which has given us plenty to keep busy! We have a website and sales are good... we're happy and grateful! This little venture has helped us put some funds towards our dream wedding which we are trying to stay positive will still go ahead early next year (covid dependent, the safety of our family and friends will always come first!) At times I've looked at this page and felt saddened like I "let the ball slip." But honestly, in order to succeed at everything I realised success was not possible through burnout so DEMKO has taken a back seat. It doesn't mean DEMKO is no longer trading, I trust the timing of my life to know that when the time is right I'll be able to create under my brand again. I thank you all for being part of my journey, for believing in me and supporting my passions - I am a woman of many hats! I do have ideas and projects waiting to recommence so when I get back to it I look forward to picking up where I left off. Xo

💮 VISION BOARD 💮
This morning I attended a beautiful workshop hosted by . This event provided me with the time and the space to relax, connect and imagine all of the incredible possibilities I can create for myself. We kicked off the morning delving into a gorgeous yoga class with . After an hours drive to it was definitely what I needed to shake off the drive and frazzledness of waking up a little earlier than I like (It's been a hectic week! I'm one of those people, I literally have to peel myself out of bed 🤣). To keep the zen and energy flowing, we refueled our bodies over a healthy breakfast whist listening to a discussion panel with and . It was moving to hear where these ladies started in their own journeys, and how their heart felt desire was to help others into a more self sustaining way of living through self love, personal development and coaching. Both different, but it was very clear these businesswomen shared values of empowerment, love and healing. To close off the morning, we created vision boards! Mine is pictured here! I've always loved creating vision boards and I'm a big believer in them! This time it was just beautiful to sit around a table with other women coming together because we took time to give back to ourselves!

This project is well and truly in progress! My goal is to inspire someone, ANYONE, to think twice before throwing out that old, preloved garment. Guys, I've said it 100 times already but I'm SO EXCITED for the completion of this revamp! Tag me in your current revamp project, I'm excited to see it!

How awesome is the progress being made on my revamp jacket?! I wanted to design a recycled garment to show how you can upcycle a preloved piece into something you can treasure now more than ever!
