I knew this was something I wanted to show you while we wait for the professional photos from Lampoluce Photo Studio Melb..

The custom L-shaped pendant doesn’t just light the island below. A significant amount of its light is directed upwards, washing the ceiling with light. That illuminated ceiling then becomes a large reflective surface, gently bouncing light back throughout the room.

It’s one of the reasons this space feels so bright, yet the ceiling isn’t cluttered with rows of downlights.

Of course, this isn’t the only indirect lighting in the room, and I’ll show you the other layers in another video. But it’s a great example of how changing the way you think about light can completely change the way a space feels.

Light doesn’t always have to come down to be effective. Sometimes sending it up first gives you an even better result.

A site visit the other night for a project that’s finally nearing completion.

We first started working with these clients before COVID, and like many projects, a few unforeseen delays extended their timeline. With the build now in its final stages, we were on site checking light levels and any concerns.

One of the benefits of having us involved throughout the entire process is that we’re here when questions arise and details need refining along the way.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished.
