Using a simple pattern as a starting point, you’ll explore how knitting can become a creative and reflective process shaped by rhythm, repetition and personal expression. More experienced knitters are welcome to experiment with additional stitches and textures.

Learn the intricacies of character design and illustration in this free workshop with Rosina Yuan!

You’ll begin with concept exercises that spark new ways of thinking about personality, storytelling and visual identity. From there, you’ll develop your own character using the fundamentals of visual language, colour theory and fashion-inspired design. Along the way, you’ll learn how shape, colour, clothing and expression can communicate mood, attitude and backstory without any word.

Through guided activities and creative experimentation, you’ll build confidence in turning sketches into distinctive characters with depth and personality. Whether you’re interested in comics, animation, game design or illustration, this workshop offers tools to strengthen your visual storytelling skills.
