A Hard-Fought Formula Four Season Comes to a Close. It’s been a challenging season across the AUSTRALIAN FORMULA POWERBOAT GRAND PRIX Formula Four class — plenty of ups, downs, and battles on the water. But through it all, Lachie Bride of has done it again, securing another APBA Australian Formula Four Championship! 👏🔥

This marks the final season in the class for both Lachie Bride and fellow competitor Tyler Gilligan, with both set to make the leap into the Formula GP class next season. The competition is only getting faster!

And as they move up — could we be seeing the next generation coming through? Will Riley and Ella be stepping up from Formula Futures into Formula Four? We’ll have to wait and see when the boats hit the water at Round One this October 👀🚤

What’s the weirdest thing you have found in a 2nd hand race boat?

Wonder who would be on the other radio?

Scott Gillman?
Thani Al Qamzi?
Yanto Kadri?
Craig Bailey?
Briney Pugsley?
Dean Allison?

🏁Round 4.5, AUSTRALIAN FORMULA POWERBOAT GRAND PRIX

📍 St. George Power Boat Club

What a weekend it’s been on Kogarah Bay!

Yesterday, the AFPGP held its final round for the Formula Futures, 550s and Formula V’s at the St George Motorboat Club.

Scarlett and Ella were back in action in J2 and J3, taking on some tidy conditions, just a bit of ferry wash down the back straight to keep things interesting. Both girls raced brilliantly, flying through the chop getting some great air time!

Scarlett finished 2nd in J2
Ella finished 5th in J3

Then last night was the AFPGP Series Presentation… and boom — both girls crowned series champions in J2 and J3! 🏆🔥

Scarlett also was awarded thee clubs Formula Future Rising Star 🌟

Today wrapped up with the APBA Australian Titles. Scarlett unfortunately woke up vomiting sick, so Ella stepped into the J2 boat as well as her own J3. Lap after lap Ella drove flawlessly and constantly!

With zero practice in the J2, she pushed through and finished:
🥉 3rd in J2
5️⃣ 5th in J3

Not bad for a last-minute double duty drive!

Ella also won best presented for the weekend!

So that’s it for the seasons racing! Now it’s back to the shed to prepare the new boats in time for Round 1 for the AFPGP at Rathmines 18th and 19th October.
