First time mum to be? Having anxious thoughts about birth? Wondering, can I really do this?
These thoughts are totally normal! We've all had them. So what is the best way to combat birth fear and anxiety?
🌼 Get informed: the more you know about birth, the less there is to fear. It's often fear of the unknown that can be the most overwhelming. Having info gives you choices and choices give you courage and power.
🍀 Create an amazing support team: make sure your care provider and birth partner know your birth wishes, preferences and fears so they know how best to care for you and make you feel safe.
🌸 Get skilled: Most women's fear revolves around wondering about the pain of childbirth. So create a toolkit of comfort measures and pain relieving techniques so you feel ready to take on anything.
🌿 Use affirmations daily throughout pregnancy: the earlier you start, the better! Reduce fear, shift your midset and re-condition your brain with positive thoughts about your body and it capabilities. This science backed method can be the key to walking into birth believing in yourself and the process of birth.
