Plastic Free July at Smart Start ELDC πβ»οΈ
This month, children will and have been diving into immersive sustainability experiences as part of Plastic Free July, exploring how small actions can make a big difference for our environment.
Through hands-on provocations, children investigated the impact of plastic pollution on our oceans, sorted recyclable materials, discussed ways to reduce waste and explored how we can all help protect marine life. These meaningful experiences sparked thoughtful conversations about caring for our world and encouraged children to become confident environmental stewards.
At Smart Start ELDC, we believe the best learning happens through play, inquiry and real-life experiences. By creating immersive environments that inspire curiosity and action, we're empowering children to develop lifelong habits of sustainability and care for our planet.

Why Family Photos Matter π
At Smart Start, we use family photos throughout our learning environments to strengthen children's sense of belonging, identity, and connection.
Seeing the people who matter most to them helps children feel safe, secure, and valued within their learning environment. Family photos create opportunities for meaningful conversations, support emotional wellbeing, encourage language development, and help children build connections between home and the service.
We love seeing children proudly share stories about their families, revisit special memories, and connect with the people who make up their world.
If you haven't already, we encourage families to share a family photo with our team so we can continue creating spaces where every child feels a strong sense of belonging. π‘π

When children feel connected, they feel safe, valued, and confident to learn, grow, and thrive.
