This week, our children embraced the spirit of NAIDOC Week through a variety of meaningful, hands-on experiences that celebrated the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€
Throughout the week, the children explored Dreamtime stories, created music using clapsticks, engaged in playdough experiences inspired by symbols and nature, and incorporated natural resources from Country into their play and learning. These experiences encouraged curiosity, creativity, respect, and a deeper appreciation for the world’s oldest continuing cultures.
At our service, we value creating opportunities for children to learn through play while fostering a sense of belonging, respect, and connection to Country and community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate, learn, and grow together during NAIDOC Week.

🍲🌎 Celebrating Culture Through Food

As part of our ongoing commitment to listening to our families and valuing their feedback, we've added Carbonada, a traditional Chilean winter dish, to our menu thanks to a wonderful suggestion from one of our families! ❀️

At Story House Springvale South, we celebrate inclusiveness by embracing the diverse cultures within our community. Sharing traditional meals is a meaningful way to help children learn about, appreciate, and celebrate different cultures while ensuring every family feels valued and represented.

Our children loved it too! πŸ‘
"It's really yummy!" – 4-Year-Old Kinder Children

Thank you to our families for helping us create a community where everyone belongs. πŸ’™
