Mike-Anthony Design
Hey everyone, I know it's not a real holiday in Australia, but I'd like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!
I'm thankful for all the artists and creatives out there, giving us new things to think about and be inspired by every single day! We're lucky to live in a world where imagination and innovation thrive, allowing us to evolve intellectually and creatively!
I'm also thankful for food because who doesn't love food?
What are you thankful for?

With this piece, I wanted to try my hands at a typographic self portrait based on one word that I feel best represents my personality and design sense.
I went through a short brainstorm process of suitable words before deciding on “Colourful” (which is how we spell it in Australia for any Americans that may be reading this).
I love colours, whether it’s in graphic design, what I’m wearing, or what I’m seeing in the world around me. I also admittedly consider my personality to be quite colourful (not modest at all right?) in regards to what I think, say and how I behave.
What’s the best way to illustrate the word I thought? With my clothes!
I have quite a colourful wardrobe and could use all my clothing and accessories to create letters with them. I decided to arrange the letters in a colour spectrum of harmonious tones. I then took photos of my letterform clothing and laid the images out over flat colour blocks, positioning them in a 3×3 grid layout.

This project started after the M**O branding & marketing mix.
I was to create a high end festival program that would showcase the artists of M**O 2013, while maintaing the feel and personality of the brand that I had earlier constructed.
I wanted the cover to be a bit more interesting by using a die cut transparent paper overlay to create the brand symbol, which when opened up, reveals the full gloss cover underneath.
The program spreads were printed on a nice matte textured light card stock that helps the colour blocking and the hi-res artist images show off their vibrancy with a bit of depth and a nice feel to turn the pages.
