The July Goat month is here, bringing the energy of Yin Wood over the Earth Goat. The Goat reminds us that this is a wonderful time to be creative in our adventures, set fresh goals and slowly start climbing towards them. The Goat teaches us that success comes from careful planning, patience and taking one steady step at a time.

I always think of the Goat as the animal that quietly climbs the highest mountains. Because it can rise so high into the clouds, it has long been regarded as a spiritual and auspicious animal, symbolising promise, prosperity and the ability to achieve great things.

The Goat is naturally kind, gentle and peace-loving. With Yin Wood added in, this month encourages connection, support and meaningful relationships. Yin Wood is like a climbing vine—it gently reaches out, finds opportunities and grows through connection. The Wood Goat is hardworking, loyal and respected, but it can also cling to what feels familiar and be a little resistant to change.

With so much going on in the world, this energy is a reminder to lean into kindness, compassion and understanding—both in our personal lives and on a wider global scale.

The month begins on a Yang Water Fire Horse day, which clashes with the year’s Yang Fire Horse energy. At the same time, the Horse and Goat are friends, and together they amplify Fire energy, making this a very active and fast-moving month.

I often picture it as an ocean sitting on top of a blazing fire. Symbolically, this can point to increased volcanic or earthquake activity, particularly beneath the ocean brining up new land. After the significant earthquakes we saw last month in Venezuela, Japan and California, let’s hope anything that unfolds this month is much less severe.

From a Flying Star perspective, Monthly Star 3 moves into the centre. This star can bring gossip, misunderstandings, arguments, legal issues, fraud and financial loss. Supported by the Yearly Star 1 (Water), these themes can feel stronger and more visible, both globally and in our everyday lives.

We may see increased political tension, fraudulence or disputes involving leaders or governments, and continued unrest in central regions and countries. There may also be events connected to oceans or waterways, as well as more general water-related activity.

With strong Fire energy present, disruptions can also show up in areas linked to aviation, fuel, electricity, power systems, transport and technology—especially delays or interruptions in electrically powered networks.

Even with these intense currents, the Wood Goat gently reminds us that real strength lies in staying calm, kind and grounded. Rather than getting pulled into conflict or gossip, we’re better supported when we choose understanding, patience, and steady progress toward our goals.

1 July 2026, is a Yang Fire Rat Day. With the Horse Month and Rat Day together, we have a Horse–Rat clash in Chinese Astrology.

A clash doesn’t automatically mean something bad will happen. More often, it represents movement, change, and transformation.

🐭 If you have a Rat in your chart, you’re clashing with the Horse energy throughout 2026. Rather than resisting change, consider initiating it yourself, whether that’s a move, a new job, further study, or changes within relationships. Choosing change can often feel more empowering than having it forced upon you.
