Hunters' Roots

It is with bittersweet feelings that we let you know we will be closing our doors tomorrow Friday 6th August 2021.
7 years ago we picked up our keys to our little shop in a quiet laneway on Katherine place. The only real plan we had was we wanted to run a cafe together and share the simple wholesome food we loved to cook for ourselves at home with the people of Melbourne, a kitchen that was our home away from home.
We had no way of knowing how important all our customers, staff and friends would become to us, some are now family. We are very grateful for all your support over the years and for the opportunity to share our food and chats with you.
As some of you may know, the past year has been tough for us, as has been the case for many small businesses especially in the CBD. In the end, we couldn't fight against our two biggest enemies - covid and our landlord.
We are so sorry that with the short notice we were given we won't get the chance to see many customers for one last time but hopefully if you are around today or tomorrow, please drop by. Otherwise, drop us a message or email and we would love to keep in touch.
Moving forward, our catering side of the business is still running and we will be taking the opportunity to reenergise and restrategise and hopefully see you all again soon.

When it comes to our smoothies, it's pretty hard to choose which one to have. Our theory is 5 working days, 5 different smoothies. First up, is our 'Purple Rain' smoothie, this fruity mix is packed full of sweet dragonfruit, berries, banana, coconut yoghurt & coconut water. 🤤 💜
