Laila is second-generation Raqs Sharqi dancer characterised by her joyous improvisation and sensitive interpretation of music. She performs and teaches regularly across Naarm sharing her connection to culture through dance. Her main influences come from her mother’s dance practice, her father’s Armenian/Chaldean family from Aleppo, Syria and old VHS of Egyptian dance stars.
