The format is 7-a-side, mixed (men & women) and non-contact. It's a great version of AFL footy and a lot of fun to play!

The AFI Touch Footy World Cup is open to teams from Melbourne’s multicultural communities. To be eligible to represent your community, players must meet one of the following criteria:

1. he/she has ancestry e.g. born in the country or has a parent or grandparent born in the country which he/she is representing, or

2. he/she can demonstrate a significant link to the country e.g. marriage or partner

Teams that have participated in the AFI Touch Footy World Cup include Brazil, El Salvador, Great Britain, Haiti, Malawi, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, Switzerland and Wales.

Against all odds we ran a very successful Spring Comp in Melbourne last year, and we are pleased to let you know we will back in October! Hi all, the Touch Footy World Cup is being held this Sunday (11th April) at Fawkner Park in South Yarra! It's 7-a-side, mixed (men & women) and non-contact. The event starts at 10am and will be finished by 3pm.

We have 7 confirmed teams - Malawi, El Salvador, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Great Britain and the United Nations - representing Melbourne's multicultural communities.

Our 8th team, Haiti, is struggling for numbers. They are desperate to take part, so the Honorary Consul for Haiti in Melbourne has asked us to help them find some players. They are looking for people who want to help out by being 'Honorary Haitians' for the tournament. Jumper (see below), shorts & socks supplied 🙂
