In today's digital world, where security breaches are increasingly sophisticated, staying informed and prepared is crucial.

I'm proud to share that I've earned a certificate in "Risks of Identity and Credential-Based Cyber Attacks:" today! 🛡️🔐

This course taught me about the growing risks of cyber attacks that target personal identities and login credentials. I learned how these threats work, why they matter, and how to defend against them.

In a time when online security is more important than ever, this knowledge will help me better support businesses in protecting their information and maintaining trust with their customers.

I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned to help organizations creating awareness campaign how to stay secure in today’s digital world.

Starting a business from scratch during a global pandemic in a foreign country was an incredible challenge. With all my savings committed to obligations back home, no one hiring, and the pressure of daily expenses, it felt overwhelming. I knew no one, had no capital to invest, and had no one to rely on.

My career in PR, Sales & Marketing, and Business Development thrived on in-person interactions. Transitioning to online communication during lockdown was tough, but I had to adapt and relearn networking.

I had to get things moving quickly. Leveraging my corporate career skills, I focused on two things: Networking and Publicity.

Attention is the most valuable currency in business. I kept posting, joined every possible platform, and maintained a persistent online presence.

𝕻𝖚𝖇𝖑𝖎𝖈𝖎𝖙𝖞✍: I was interviewed by Affluent Society global magazine, which, along with Google Business and the right keywords, attracted high-profile clients.

𝕹𝖊𝖙𝖜𝖔𝖗𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌✍: I engaged in Facebook groups and created a virtual PR event supporting the Big Morning Tea, capturing attention with engaging content.

𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
I leveraged my brand, repackaged products, and made strategic choices to ensure I could sustain myself and grow.

Collaborating with small business owners was crucial. A local developer company supported me unconditionally, proving that having supporters in business is invaluable.

Persistence, adaptation, and leveraging connections have been key to my journey. Keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles! 💪

I haven't shared this story publicly before, but recent events and encouragement have prompted me to do so now.

Well, this is me during the first few days of my homeless nights.

Here’s how the story starts...

It was his birthday in 2022.

His father said, "I don't like you. You used up my son's money and made him borrow money from his aunt for you. I don't like you. I want you to leave the house in 7 days, and I will cancel your visa."

"What do you mean? Your son can't even put food on the table because you insisted he give you all his salary as your allowance and to pay for the family trust expenses?"

"I never received a cent from him... I don't like you, and you didn't come to see his mother when she was in the hospital."

"When I was sick, your son told me she said she wouldn't help because he was no longer your responsibility since he was with me. Why does his mother deserve treatment while I don't? I'm human too. So, if you didn't receive the money, where has it gone?"

I then confronted my ex. He admitted it was all going into gambling and drugs.

I was shocked and speechless. All the reasons he gave (my sister wants me to contribute to the family trust, my parents want me to give them an allowance because I have a job...) were lies!

I told him his father wanted me to leave. He said to just leave since I now knew the truth.

But how? I had uprooted myself from my home country, left my high-paying corporate job, used all my savings to pay off commitments back home, and started a new life here. Most importantly, I couldn't go back due to a severe medical condition.

The next day, someone from AIFC—a Christian family counseling institute—called to interview me for counselor registration. I said "yes," and during the interview, I shared my journey during the pandemic in this new country. "...I think I am doing well, surviving these three years, though I cry every time I reach my doorstep," I said.

She was alarmed and warned this could lead to split personality disorder. She delved deeper, and I told her the whole story. She assured me this was financial and mental abuse and insisted I see immigration, telling me I didn't deserve this treatment.

An appointment with immigration was arranged for the next day. The immigration officer spent the whole day with me. I was still unsure about what I had gone through. They told me it was wrong for my partner to hide the truth from all parties and lie to me, and this was definitely abuse. They convinced me that this family dynamic was dangerous and advised me to leave immediately and follow their procedure.

I listened to them and left that day with just a beach bag and a jacket.

Fortunately, I wasn't homeless for too long. I met an angel who offered me a place to stay, for which I am eternally grateful. 👼

At the same time, a women's support group organized a fundraising event to help women escape abuse. I happily organized a table because, deep in my heart, I wanted to help more women and believe women don't deserve to be treated like this.

So, if you see me talking a lot about women's empowerment in my posts, and how much I want to help society, it's because I have gone through so much. From the bottom of my heart, I feel the world needs to be kinder.

I had a client call this afternoon, and it awakened me to why I believe PR campaigns can impact society. It is because of the experiences I went through - 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯'𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘯, 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.

When asked why I want to do Public Relations, I answered: "𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴" It was a powerful moment of clarity for me. It is a calling from a higher power—God.

I wouldn't have been able to find the right path without God sending me those organizations guiding me throughout the whole process.

I knew no one in this country. Even those I knew couldn't fully understand what I had been through and couldn't guide me to the right resources.

I am deeply thankful to the organizations that have supported me so much, consistently following up and helping me feel safe for the very first time. I made a promise to use my testimony to glorify God and impact the world—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. ❤️

This experience has inspired me to pursue my passion in public relations, aiming to impact society with kindness, faith, and values. I believe that corporations and organizations have the capacity to make a significant difference on a larger scale, something I couldn't do alone.

It takes a lot of courage to share this... especially coming from an Asian background.

By sharing my story, I hope to help more people and raise awareness about the issues in society. Corporations and organizations can play a crucial role in this.
